I am a retired London police officer with territorial Army service. I have been a student of military history since grammar school, I was attracted, in my early years of discovery, to Belgium and Northern France, studying the First World War. My interests subsequently enlarged to include the 1944-1945 WWII battlefields of Northwest Europe. In 2005 I moved to Flanders, Belgium, where for four years I had the opportunity to study the 1944-45 battles in Belgium, Netherlands and to the Rhine.

In 2009, I came to Normandy further developing my interest in, and my study of, the Normandy campaign of June to August 1944. I am an honorary member of the South Alberta regiment of Canada and also a volunteer member of the D-Day Academy of Dr Jean-Pierre Benamou OBE.
